Summer at X Games Action Sports Management Academy at UC Santa Barbara

This exploration of the field of action sports will take students on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to experience the inner workings of industry-innovating X Games. Featuring case studies and lively class discussions, the program will feature two trips to the site of the Summer X Games in Ventura, CA in various stages to see the constructed experience before it opens to the public, meet with department heads, and interact with athletes. Students will get firsthand experience in the arena of action sports business, examine the central role business innovation plays in advancing the boundaries of the sport industry, and apply the principles of next-gen media and marketing to drive fan engagement. Students will stay at UC Santa Barbara while participating in this program.
